2.To create a human resource that is organized, trained and enthusiastic to offer leadership throughout all aspects of their lives, including serving in the Armed Forces and be always ready to serve the nation.

"I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally and that, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the National Cadet Crops. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and wholeheartedly".

ncc day History

The NCC in India was formed as a result of legislation known as National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. The Act was approved on July 15 in 1948. National Cadet Corps can be considered as the successor of the University Officers Training Corps (UOTC) that was established in 1942 by the British in 1942. British during 1942. In the time of World War II, the UOTC did not meet the requirements set by the British. This led to the notion that better plans should be devised, to aid more kids in a more effective manner, even in peace time. A committee headed by Pandit H.N. Kunzru proposed a cadet organization to be set up in colleges and schools at a national level. In 1948 the Nfull form of the nccational Cadet Corps Act was passed by the Governor General and on July 15, 1948 The National Cadet Corps was formed.


In the conflict of 1965 and 1971 between the United States and Pakistan, NCC Cadets served as the 2nd defence. They organized camps that helped factories that made ordinance, and supplied ammunition and weapons at the front. They also functioned as patrol units to take down enemies paratroopers. The NCC Cadets also collaborated in conjunction with Civil Defence authorities and actively involved in rescue efforts and traffic management. In the wake of the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars , the NCC syllabus was updated. Instead of serving as a second line of defence, the NCC syllabus was able to place more emphasis on the development of leadership and officer-like traits. The military-related education that NCC student received reduced and more emphasis was placed on other areas like social service and youth management.
